TOTAL COMMITTMENT

TOTAL COMMITTMENT
One of the most important requirements or components or attributes of a wholly devoted life, is not just ecstatic praise and worship. Earlier on we talked about ‘Wholehearted love’.
However, we cannot achieve wholehearted devotion without wholehearted commitment, or total commitment.

I learnt about something about ‘Total Commitment’, from the story of King Hezekiah, who was a king of Judah, after the order of King David.
In 2 Chronicles chapter 31, verses 20-21, we read this amazing scripture:

“20 And thus Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God.
And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.”
This tells me that in every area of his life as a worshipper, Hezekiah excelled. Hezekiah, before he did anything, checked if it was good, and then if it was truth, and again, if it was right. When he confirmed that it was all okay in the sight of God, he then proceeded to carry it out.

Secondly, Hezekiah ensured that never ignored the necessary intricate details of the law and the commandments. He ensured that he never deviated from the instructions given to Moses-this obviously made him outstanding.

Notice that Hezekiah won some incredible battles-in fact he did not lose any battles. God always fought for him supernaturally.
It was only brotherly love, and a desire not to cast away or fight against Israel according to divine instructions that brought Hezekiah in contact with the wicked king of Israel-Ahab.
However, the Lord later separated, and delivered him from destruction, because it would have come from there.

Our lesson from all this is to prefer total commitment to excuses in small things. It is always easy to say, well it is good, but it is not right, however God will understand. Someone can also say, it right, but it is not the truth-God will understand. Yet another will say, it is the truth (word), but is not good or right, well (understand any way that the word of God cannot be wrong), so I don’t care. In all these things, let us not allow excuses to take the place of total commitment.

I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE

One of the important things that you and I need to realise is the great power of God that is hidden in worship, especially worship songs that talk about the power, the kingdom and the glory of God. This power is real as it is authentic, it heals, it saves, it delivers and smashes every power of hell that seeks to hinder the purpose of God.Every power that hurts or binds or destroys the children of God, bows to wholehearted worship of the Almighty God.
I have personally experienced the power of worship, and it's ability to defeat the powers of hell, as I played my songs and those of others, or as I played an instrument, and worshipped. This works, but I must say that not all of worship is carried out under that anointing of the Holy Spirit.
If you have someone that is under any kind of demonic manipulation or control or sickness or spiritual attack, consider playing non-stop worship, while praying for this person. You will see the mighty hand of God!
My beautiful album titled-I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE, will be released in November this year. I choose to believe has thirteen tracks in it, and different contemporary style songs. It has some awesomely inspiring and anointed worshio songs.

WORSHIP YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER!

There are people in the church today, who do not understand why there is so much singing going on in the church. They do not understand why people have to express such heavy emotions, lifting up their hands, bowing down and sometimes even crying, while in church or during church services. This is the main reason why some people who consider themselves to be matured, shy away from the meetings of certain Pentecostal churches.  There are others who despise worship leaders, and choristers and those who sing a lot. There are still some young people who don’t like their friends that are constantly singing praises instead of trendy secular music by world class secular hippop, pop and rock stars.
Statistics and certain studies have shown that up to 70% of all the things we do in the kingdom of God, involve music or comprise of it. That is a fact, and that is the way God intended for it to be.
YESTERDAY

It is important to understand that God taught the angels of old, how to celebrate and activate his power and His presence, through worship.
Lucifer, who was chief among God’s archangels, was created specially with tabrets and pipes, and we can see this in Ezekiel chapter 28 and verse 13:
“13 Thou has been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, the gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes were prepared in thee, in the day that thou wast created.”
Therefore Lucifer was created with special instruments of music, within himself, there could have been no other purpose for this, except for worship. Then after his fall and defeat, worship still continued in heaven.
On the day our father God decided to re-create the world, including man, and decided to make man in His own image, the angels were excited. They went hysterical with praise and worship. Their excitement, about the fact that God was now going to extend their realm of service, and make another one like him-knew no bounds. We can see this in Job chapter38 and verses4-7:
“4 Where was thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare if thou hast understanding.
5 Who has laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who has stretched the line upon it?
6 Whereupon are the foundations fastened? Or who laid the cornerstone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”
The angels as we can see in verse 7 sang for joy on the day the world was created, it has always been part of their ministry.
Again, in the Book of Psalms, the psalmists such as David, and others- a acknowledged this ministry of the angels, which in turn now enhances or amplifies a similar ministry which has been given to man. This ministry has been given to the saints of God in general. We can see this in Psalm 103, verse 20 and 21as follows:
“20 Bless the Lord ye His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word.
21 Bless ye the Lord all ye His hosts; ye ministers of His that do His pleasure”.
King David recognized the beauty of angelic worship, and commands them to do the same as an expression of solidarity, to His other creatures-because of God’s goodness and His greatness.
Also in Psalm 148 and verse 2 again, we read as follows:
“2 Praise ye Him, all His angels: praise ye him, all His hosts,
3 Praise ye Him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light”
These are a few examples from the old dispensation, beginning from before creation of the world, to the time before Christ came.

TODAY

Right from the day Christ was born, we began to see this ministry repeated with joy, because as they sang (the angels), they gave glory to God in the highest, and they declared-shalom or peace unto men. They declared the highest level of total well-being to men of good will, because Jesus Christ our savior had been born. We can see this in the Book of Luke chapter 2, verses 13-14:
“13 And suddenly there was with the angel, a multitude of heavenly hosts praising God and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men”.
This was just another glimpse into the ministry of the angels in heaven, that as soon as the savior was born in Bethlehem in a manger, an angel appeared to a group of shepherds who were watching over their flocks by night. Immediately after announcing the birth of the savior to them, another group of heavenly hosts, appeared, and worshipped God-celebrating the birth of the savior in their presence.

TOMORROW

The Book of Revelation is heavily packed with what shall come to be in the nearest future. Most of the time, we focus on the coming rapture, the great tribulation, or the judgments of God on the earth or all creation. However, there is so much concerning the worship that already goes on around the throne of God, and will continue to go on and will be amplified in the ages to come. These days, when we worship God, we do not know that the angels are right there with us doing what we are doing, however, and then we shall know. In Revelation chapter 5 and verse 11, we read as follows:
“11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands.
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom and strength, and honor, and glory and blessing”.
This revelation, showed an uncountable number of angels, probably numbering billions, worshiping God, together with the beasts, and the elders.
This great ministry of worship will be one of the key ministries of the angels and the saints, in the ages to come.
Therefore, when we engage in this ministry today, we ought to do it with all our might. The most astonishing thing about the ministry of praise and worship is the release of God’s power that is associated with praise and worship. The release of God’s power has to do with His manifest presence.

One of my greatest experiences in the world is when I worship God, and He comes down with His power, and the glory of God destroys the yokes of darkness. I experience this every day of my life, and can assure you that there is nothing like it, because the Bible tells us that in His presence is fullness of joy, and at His right hand are pleasures forever more.

THE HOLY GHOST LOVES AND THE STRINGS.

In many places in the book  of Psalms, I see the Psalmists talk about the stringed instruments. They talk about praising the Lord with a ten stringed or a ten stringed instrument, for example- In Psalm 33 verse 2, we read, "Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with Psaltery and an instrument of  ten strings." Again, in Psalm 92 verse 3, we read," Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon Psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound".
Finally again in Psalm 144 and verse 9 we read, "I will sing a new song unto thee, upon a Psaltery and an instrument of ten stings, I will sing  praise unto thee"
I believe that those who wrote this did so based on the revelation that the Holy Spirit and the Father appreciate the beauty of worship with the stringed instruments. I will like you to enjoy briefly a session of acoustic worship.
The presence of God will surely be felt by you when you do.

A SWEET FELLOW SHIP

Yesterday morning during devotion, I played very beautiful worship tape by Don Moen- a Christmas worship CD (by the way every day is Christmas for me). One song I heard in that tape raptured my spirit. My room was filled with the presence of God and my right palm and fingers went numb. The Holy Spirit has visited me mightily again. Throughout the day, that song reverberated in my mind and I will share it here with you:
For God is with us
And we celebrate the glory of His presence
Christ has come to fill our hearts with love
He came to save us
King of kings and Lord of lords
His name is Jesus
God with us
Emmanuel has come.
This morning again, I played that beautiful tape as I prayed. It was awesome, and on my mind now is still the last song:
Unto us a song is given
Unto us a child is born
Jesus son of the father
And he shall rule on David's throne
Chorus:
And he shall reign over all the earth
He shall reign over all the earth
He shall reign over all the earth
He shall reign over all the earth.
Then again, the Holy Spirit filled my room and cold shivers ran throughout my body.
THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE THE PRESENCE OF GOD
You may say well, wherever I am God is
Yeah that's true but not his manifest presence
With power and glory.

SIMLPLICITY AND BROKENNESS/TRUE WORSHIP.

True worship must involve good works. The reason for mysaying that is the fact that everything we do in accordance with the scriptures in other honour and serve God, is a part of worship. In the book of Epesians chapter2 and verse 10, we read as follows:10 "For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath ordained that we should we should walk in them" Thus we can see clearly from here that the purpose of the new creation is good works. It is true that we are not saved by our works but by grace, but if the purpose of our creation is so that we can do good works, then we can't keep decieving ourselves by saying thatour living any how does not really matter because we are saved by grace.Look again at this beatiful scripture in the book of Titus chapter 3 and verse 8.
8 " This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, thatthey which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good, and profitable unto all men."
Again in the book of James chapter1 and verse 27, we read as follows:
27 "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the father is this,To visit the fatherless and the widow in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world". I have heard the saying over and over that christianity is not a religion, however, religion has to do with worship and objects of worship. The almighty God is the ultimate personality to be worshipped. Thus true worship must include what the Bible talked about in the book of James above.Looking after the widows, orphans and keeping yourself unspotted from the World are good works, and they are all acts of true worship.

ALONE WITH GOD

Have you ever had cause to lock up yourself in a room for days spending time alone with no one but God alone? This surely sounds strange to someone reading this article. I know that some believers in Jesus Christ when they see this will wonder if I am now a supporter of transcendental meditation or yoga, or if am one of those mixing Christianity with the new age practices. Oh no brothers and sisters, what we have is bigger and better than that by far.
I love corporate prayer and intercession, but they can never take the place of spending time alone with God. It is easy sometimes to pretend that we love God and that we are in fellowship with Him, when have church services, prayer meetings, praise and worship concerts etc and we attend in the company of others. However the real proof of your devotion to God is when, like Jesus said you get into your secret place and commune and fellowship with him.
There are several benefits of spending time alone with God, as we can see from the scriptures. In the book of Genesis chapter 32 and verse 24 we read as follows:
24 “And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.”The man Jacob was left alone, and he wrestled with God. His wrestling with God produced the blessing of God upon His life. I strongly believe that what God does for one, he will do for another under the same circumstances. If therefore any man is suffering from barrenness in any area of his life, spending time and wrestling with God alone, is certain to produce an empowerment to prosper in his or her life.
Secondly, in the Book of Daniel chapter 10 and verse 8, we read about how that when he was alone with God, revelations came to him about the future in the form of visions. If you read the story properly though you will find out that Daniel started a fast which must have been a total dry fast, including not washing his body or applying oils on himself. I don’t know if anybody goes to that extent today. This was later described in the same book as seeking to understand and to chasten himself before God. In as much as there were people with him at the time of his meeting with the angel, they were driven away from him by vibrations so that he was alone to receive the revelation from the angel. Let’s look at it in Daniel chapter 10 and verse 8.
7 “And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned into corruption, and I retained no strength.”
That secret place alone with God is a place where you and I can receive revelation from God or grab hold of a new vision.
What about a rejuvenation of the anointing for miracles, healings and for power generally? In the book of Mathew chapter 14 and verse 23, we read about Jesus who went into the bush or mountain to be alone with God. When Jesus came out of that place where he was alone with God, all men sought to touch him, and as many as touched him were made whole.
23 “And when he had sent the multitude away, he went up into a mountain apart (alone) to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.”After this event, you find out later that Jesus performed so many miracles as you read down up to verse 34.
What about personal revival and intercession for healing and mercy on the sick and of the lost? In the book of Hebrews chapter 9 and verse7 we read about the exclusive intercessory role of the Levitical high priests and their offering up of sacrifices in the innermost chamber of the temple known as the Holy of holies.
7 “But into the second went the high priest once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:..”Our times alone with him therefore become times of offering up ourselves again, interceding for the lost and the sick. I am not talking about spending five munities in your bedroom speaking in tongues. Daniel spent 21 days seeking his face. Although you may not have to go that far, certain emergencies demand that we lock up ourselves in the room and refuse to see or talk to no one until God has answered us.
I remember the story I heard about the great man of God about how that he sought for and received the anointing to perform great miracles. It was said that he did not see mighty manifestations of the Holy Spirit in his early days of ministry. He went to a meeting of another man of God (I believe was John G Lake)
And when he saw the great miracles, he decided that he will lock himself up inside his room and seek the face of God alone until he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost (great anointing for signs, miracles and wonders). He did that and the Lord after many days responded to his heart’s desire and demand, and that turned him into a giant of faith. It was said that light shined from heaven into the dark room where he was as the glory of God filled the room and his change came.
May the Lord meet you and I with the same power and glory as we wait on him alone, wrestling, seeking understanding and chastening, interceding for the lost in Jesus name. Amen.

NO PLACE LIKE HIS PRESNCE

I love miracles and the miraculos today, and I am fascinated by them.I am often drawn towards towards ministries that have the miraculous, more than those that do not have them. However, I must confess that initially, it was not so.As a younger person growing up, a few years back, I did not know the principles behind the miraculous, because I was not deep into the word of God at that time. However there was something that always got my attention. Each time I saw someone lifting up holy hands in wholehearted worship and revernce to God almighty, I knew that God was alive, and most of the time, I would feel His presence.Just like the Psalmist said in Psalm 33 verse 1"Rejoice in the Lord O ye righteous:for praise is comely for the upright",I found it so beautiful. So one day that powerful presence, and the beauty that accompanies it, brought me to my knees. This is the reason, each time I see people come out to give their lives to Christ today following a worship service, it does not surprise me, because they just caught a glimpse of what heaven will be like.It is my earnest desire to see music ministers, and worship leaders do it( infact every believer), in the power of the Holy spirit, because that is when it touches lives.

WHOLE HEARTED LOVE

Worship, is the highest form of love. There can be no greater way of expressing our love for God.Worship, is derived from two words i.e. worth and ship=worthship, which means, giving someone, that which is actually due to him or her, that which he or she, is qualified, to recieve. No one is more qualified to recieve praise, honour, adoration, blessings, power and thanksgiving, than God.Thus when we worship him, we tell him, that we are giving him that which only himself is qualified to recieve, because of who He is, no just because of what he has done.Worship, together with praise create, a most, powerful atmosphere for the manifestation of the power of God.Worship, involves more than singing, in includes a bowing down, a kneeling, down, an offering of a sacrificial gift, speaking words of praise and adoration, etc.
Most importantly, I love worship, and it changes me completely, and I believe, that it is one thing, that is responsible for the miraculous in my life.Never neglect it, 'cause it will do more than any other thing will do, in your life.Psalm 95 verse6-"O come let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our God and maker.7 For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand..."have you done it today?
